It’s not often that life deals you a second chance, so when it does, take advantage of it. That’s the lesson Elle learned during her home search, and it’s not one she will likely forget soon.
Elle is a twenty-something Midwest girl who met Center Coast’s Jonathan Self through co-workers who he had previously worked with buying and selling homes. Hearing good reviews from them, she decided to reach out to Jonathan when she began her home search in March.
Her list of wants was pretty simple; she wanted a 2 bed/2 bath with parking and a big living space. She wanted to be in West Town. That was about it. Her home buying process, however, was unfortunately not as easy.
At first, it was hard to catch a break. There was a duplex down in Noble Square that was seemingly perfect for Elle. She immediately wanted to see it, but unfortunately it went off market a day later, before they could even get their eyes on it. They set up some other showings but Jonathan’s wife ended up going into labor that day, so he was unable to attend those with her – another CCR agent was called in to help. Not long after, Elle put in some offers on a couple other places, but with the market being pretty competitive and West Town being a desirable area, she lost them. That didn’t discourage her from persevering to her goal. She set boundaries and stayed disciplined; she knew she wanted to avoid getting into a bidding war and overpaying for something if the actual value wasn’t there. The pair continued their search.
About a month into house hunting, the duplex down that Elle initially wanted to see went back on market. Apparently, the deal had fallen through. Elle and Jonathan were the first people to see the place immediately after this and snagged it. It was exactly what she wanted; it had an upstairs and downstairs and a large living area that could easily accommodate her and her roommate, and was in a great area.
Elle is now all moved into her new home, the slight hiccups she experienced completely behind her. Congratulations to Elle on her new home and thank you for being such an awesome client to work with!
